FAQ’s For Bus Bookings
We operate a fleet of 7 fully accessible mini buses with rear passenger lifts, and side steps. They can carry passengers who make use of wheelchairs and our drivers are trained to the required standards to secure both chair and passenger. The buses are in great demand, so if you have passengers who have mobility difficulties, please let us know in plenty of time so we can schedule a bus which will best suit your needs.
WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED BEFORE BOOKING ?
You will need to tell us:
1) The destination address (please try to find the postcode)
2) Where your passengers are to be picked up from and the time of pick-up
4) What time you intend to return from your destination.
5) We also need to know if you have any passengers with mobility aids and what
they are. This will help us to assign the best bus for your needs.
HOW DO I BOOK A BUS ?
To book a bus you should call our office (ask for Trish )
on 0131 315 4466. We will ask you for information about your booking and from this we will be able to delegate a bus to suit your needs.
WHAT IS AFFILIATION ?
Because we are not a commercial bus hire firm, we are required to provide services only to organisations that have an “affiliation” agreement with us. This means that we provide our services on a “Non Profit Basis” to organisations and groups who provide a social need. An affiliation form must be completed and the appropriate annual fee paid before a bus booking can be made.
CAN I DRIVE A BUS MYSELF ?
Midas accreditation (Mini Bus Drivers Assessment Scheme) is a national driving scheme for mini bus and accessible mini bus drivers. It proves that you have undertaken a course in safe driving techniques. You can drive one of our mini buses if you have completed a Midas test and hold a current Midas Certificate. If you hold one, you can register your licence details with us and this will allow you to make use of our “ Self Drive ” facility. We have a qualified instructor who can give a full days training on driving with vulnerable passengers and award the Midas Certificate to the candidates. This training is offered for a one off fee and can be arranged through phoning PEP at 0131-315- 4466
HOW LONG CAN I KEEP THE BUS ?
You can keep the bus as long as your booking lasts. Sometimes other organisations book the same bus for the period after your scheduled return, so if you think you might be late returning, please let us know so we can make other arrangements.
