Shopping Trips - 'PEP Style'
The twice weekly shopping trip to various Shopping Centres in Edinbu rgh is the highlight of the week for these ‘Peppies’. The shopping does eventually get done, in-between the hilarity in the bus and the CUPPA in the café provided. Many new friendships have been made over a period of time. The trips are on Mondays and Tuesdays and provide the shoppers with 2 full hours ‘Bargain Hunting’ including the cuppa time. The shoppers are picked up from their home driven to their destination and after the trip the escort and driver pack the bags into the bus then deliver them to your front door (or kitchen, as most people prefer)
Services to the Local Churches
PEP bus service include
runs to and from our local church es each Sunday. Photographed below are the Ladies of a truly historic story of the Old Kirk in Pennywell Road . This story started in the World War 2 years when the workers of Bruce Peebles (a Munnitions factory for the war effort) worked around the clock leaving a Thursday afternoon as the only acceptable day to worship. This session has lasted to this day with PEP providing the transport and Betty & Co providing the home made cakes.
Tony and John provide the spiritual nutrition.
St Andrews Andrews (Muirhouse) and Drylaw churches use the services of PEP for not only the weekly services but trips to "Bible World" and the bi-annual trips for the congregation.
